Our Story

We are Alicia and Warren, partners who met and bonded over the love of food.

Warren has been cooking for over 17 years, honing his culinary skills in Michelin-starred and fine dining restaurants in San Francisco and Seattle while taking every opportunity to travel the world and expand his knowledge of cuisines everywhere he visits.

Alicia loves all things food and enjoys seeking out the best eats various cities have to offer. After 11 years in investment banking, she decided it was time for a new adventure. She now manages the restaurant and has a hand in developing Palato’s dessert menu.

We opened Palato Pasta in the CBD in August 2021, and two weeks later Auckland was sent into full Covid lockdown. With our long-term goal always in mind, we dug our heels in and pulled through those rough times thanks to the support of our wonderful customers.

In late 2022, an opportunity to open a restaurant presented itself and we decided it was time to go all-in on our dream.

Palato opened its doors in the beautiful beach-side neighbourhood of Browns Bay at the end of September 2023.
